How sharp is sharp ?

When you get a new knife it should be sharp But how sharp ?

It depends on the manufacturer. Some knives are very sharp at purchase and some less so. None of them come as sharp as you can get them.

I like for my knives to be able to cleanly slice newspaper and shave the hair off my arm right out of the box.

For me, that's sharp enough.
