How'd you mount your Portaband?

I took the plunge (not as big as it could have been) and ordered Harbor Freight's $60 portaband.

Replacing the table seems straightforward enough. I also have a vise that I can clamp the saw in to mount it vertically but I would like to do something a bit more permanent in the future. Can any of you guys tell me how you did it? Maybe solutions will be obvious once it shows up, but I figure it can't hurt to have some ideas beforehand.

Thanks.

I still just clamp mine in my vise and hang it on a hook on the wall out of the way when I'm not using it...space is getting tight in my shop...need more space!

We recently built a stand for a friend of mine (James Gibson) for his and it worked out well. He basically patterned it after what he said they had at the ABS school. It's just a base plate with some round pipe sticking up and another piece of round pipe (smaller diameter) that slips inside it. It can rotate and also lock in place with a bolt welded over a hole and with the use of a t-bolt. The actual mount to the portaband will vary by manufacturer, so can't help on that part. Next time I'm over at his shop I'll take pictures and be sure to post them...

I made an adaptor from plywood to mount in a vise. It could be adapted to a permant table mount. It can easily be removed so the saw can be used as a standard portaband

I just clamped mine to a 2x6 a little longer than the saw. Clamped that in a 5 inch vise. Works great. Did have to shim the lower roller a little so the blade didn't get caughton the sides. I thought cheap saw I should maybe buy good blades. Bought one that came in a red and white box. What a piece of garbage. The weld was for enough off it wouldn't turn without getting caught. Back to cheap.

I just tie mine to a sawhorse leg with a little piece of rope right now, that way it is easy to move :D Later i will probably make something to hold it upright on a table. but i have only had mine a few weeks. but it sure does beat hacksawing stuff :D
