Hey there, I suppose l'd be the new guy in town. I've been following this forum for a little while and just decided to join. My first Becker was the 9... now I can't buy another knife until I own the whole collection... (thank you mr. Becker for your wonderful designs) Next on my list are the 2 and 5. I just ordered a necker as well and i have a special project planned for it that i think you guys are going to like. Also an aspiring beckerhead... so hopefully we'll enjoy some good conversations together in the future.

So tell me... what's the craziest, most creative, or most "hard-core" use you've found for one of your bk's... and what model was it?

Welcome friend!! I can't wait to see the necker project! I don't really have a crazy story, but I did just use my BK14 to rethread my wifes sewing machine(I'm working on a sleeping bag/ underquilt for my hammock). Now that I think about it, that's about as far from "hardcore as it gets".:o

Best knife ever made? Starting to think so. I use my bk2 for everything from food prep to chopping down small trees, but i just had the best knife test ever. So my girlfriend locked her keys in the car (shocker) and she was freeking out saying "how do i get to work tomarrow without my car" So after calling a tow company and them quoting me about $150 to unlock the car, i decided to take matters into my own hands. First i tried the hanger in the door, nothing. So my girlfriend is crying, and im scratching my head. Then i think to myself....hey i loves knives how can i use one to help my problem. So i grab my BK2 and jam is in between the door and car and just start to pry it open. Im thinking this is the end of my knife its gonna bend or break or something. So i pry the door open enough to reach in and unlock the door with close to no effort. I look at the knife and not a scratch. My girlfriend was happy as hell and now has a new respect for my collection.

I think that fits the bill quite nicely.

Welcome to the the forum, know tales here just the usual becker beating.....

Crazy? I'll give you crazy - how about batonning through my thumb with a BK14?

Or there's this seasoned oak log I chopped through with my BK2 for no readily apparent reason...

Ok - the BK2 hard use thread already mentioned is still way better. Howdy, by the way.
