Guess this is as good a place as any to introduce myself......

I've been lurking on BladeForums for a few months now and have finally decided to sign up. I'm pretty quiet by nature so I don't know that I'll post much, but I like having the option.

I've been fascinated by knives almost since I can remember -- my first acquisition was a Vic Huntsman that I begged my Dad to buy me the summer I turned eight. I've picked up all kinds of blades since then, but seem to have a special affinity for SAKs and traditional slipjoints. At least for the time being.... who knows, in six months or a year I may decide to start picking up more fixed blades and modern folders, LOL.

Guess that's it, back to lurk mode for now. :)

And so it begins.

Welcome Metal_Chick - Have fun and enjoy the different groups of folks in the different forums - a genuinely great bunch of people on this forum.

Welcome to BFC! Lots of good folk here, loads of information and pics. Enjoy!

So is it metal like knife blades or metal like music, too?

As in Sister Sin, Crucified Barbara, Betty X, Genitorturers, . . .

Yes, you got it -- metal in both senses of the word! :D

Although I've not heard of any of the bands you've listed -- my taste runs more toward the classic bands like Iron Maiden and older Metallica, and newer stuff like Opeth, Blind Guardian, and Therion.

Ah, I'm more into industrial metal with female leads. But check out any of those I mentioned if that might appeal to you. They're all current bands.

Welcome, MC!

I also think you'll like the Traditional Forum if you are into slipjoints, etc. Don't forget to check out Whine and Cheese for some non-knife stupid and insulting posts where the insane like to live it up. It's a free for all in there, and you can get to know some of the regulars (and irregulars) who hang out on BF.

The Moderators are fantastic and extremely helpful. If you have any questions, go to the Support Forum. Spark, the HPIC (Head Pirate in Charge) answers questions, as do Moderators and other knowledgeable members.

You picked a great forum to join. On behalf of the "Wimmin" of BFC, an extra welcome to you!
