Been two days without a fresh post here at the Schrade forum, just thought I'd check and see if anyone is still out there. Any new knives? Any old ones?

Hi OT,

I noticed there has not been much going on here for a few days. Just to get some conversation going, I got a great deal at our local flea market last weekend. Picked up a new in box Uncle Henry LB-1 lockblade. It was in the older brown woodgrain box with Uncle Henry in gold script on the lid. Really neat little knife. Best part was I only gave $10 for it. Sometimes I get good deals at the flea market, other times nothing at all. It is my understanding the LB-1 has not been made since 1996. Is that correct? Also, what period did Schrade use the woodgrain type boxes? I have a new condition OT34 that is also in the woodgrain style box.

A excellent deal, these little knives are getting a pretty good premium on ebay these days. If its new, I'd keep it that way. I remember a thread on ebay prices back a bit, and one of these went for something like a hundred bucks or more. I'd keep that one mint and I don't say that very often. I don't know the years that woodgrain boxes were used, but it was a while ago, I'm thinking 70's or earlier. Need little help on this one.

I just got from Ebay a stunning 3-1/2" round bolstered stockman (same pattern as the 897UH).....a 1950's era Schrade Walden stamped knife, with California clip, spey, and punch blades. Fine old peachseed jigged brown bone handles, nickel silver liners....and pristine mint condition.

A nice addition to my collection of antique knives.

Stockman with a punch, nice haul! Can you get a pic up, I'd like to see that one.

What's unusual, the recent OldTimers are selling higher on eBay than the vintage or antique Schrades at the knife sites. It's probably because everyone on the planet knows what an Old Timer is.
