Well, I have been reading for a while now. First I must say ya'll are some good people.
Got this 1980 whittler about 12 years ago when my grandad passed. My granny gave it me just before I was to get back on the plane to England. I chucked it in my shaving kit bag, that was in my backpack. It made it thru security on this end and customs on the other end. I made this trip several times.

It also made the trip to Korea with me, twice. On the final flight back home, after my backpack got x-rayed, the security guy was really digging around in my shaving kit. I thought "Well, I just lost my knife". He got to it, way down in the bag. Pulled it out and set it on the table. He kept digging around for something else, then he lifted out an old nail. I have no idea how that got in there, really. He put everything back in my bag and let me board. After I got home, the knife went in the sock drawer. I had never even used it.

Fast forward a few more years and I purchased an AR15 (its long gone). That site over there has tons of stuff. I stumbled on there blade threads over a year ago. There was someone that posted a link to this site about some guys making knives and the such. I thought "Not really for me". But the seed had been planted.

This past winter, I was cleaning out that old sock drawer, and found that little knife. I wiped it off, oiled the joints. carried it a while. Then bought a nice trapper. And the rest as they say is history.

The 2006 stockman, I found on a sofa at work. Leaving personal tools lying around in my profession is a BIG NO NO. It happily got carried every day for a few years.

Welcome, Andy! You're right. This is a great bunch of people here. You seem to fit right in.

Nice knives. The connection to Grand-dad is precious. Thanks for sharing.

Welcome! I've got a couple from my grandfathers, and the connection makes them priceless, IMO. You've got a couple of good ones there, that have traveled with you, too. Great stories for your kids one day.

You've found a good place here.

Welcome Andy to the nicest sub-forum there. Be warned: your two beautiful knives will rapidly increase number when you spend time in here.

Welcome. I know I would have done the exact same thing if I saw a Case Whittler sitting on a couch with no one around to claim it. "Score!!"

Welcome aboard ... good to see another Floridian here. Be warned, hanging around here will lighten your wallet!

Greetings and welcome Andy........:)
