thought you guys might like to see this, basic pancake style sheath, rivets down both sides, with my logo on it :D

the rivets were pretty much unintentioanlly polished. the parts not formed by the blade are polished up and made slightly shiny. i like how it turned out... a little wide, but it works.

i need to go back and sand down and polish the bolts on the back before they destroy my belt though...

Thats a nice sheath! Might have to pick one up as my leather sheath has seen some better days. Rat seems to be hungery, so when I pull it out, see flicks of leather on the edge.

Nice sheath!

lol... everyone says that... its actually a squid (abliet missing 2 limbs)

its a tattoo have on my left arm, and a brand i have on my right leg.

it doesnt really represent anything. the design of the squid is just one that lends itself very, very, very well to the graphic arts. and i have a thing for the deep ocean...

throughout high school i tried to come up with a symbol for myself that was easy to draw, could be done within 15 seconds while being drawn well, and that looked good, with some backround meaning to it. theres a lot of meaning i could put to the deep ocean, but mainly i like the design :). it was a long time in the making.

i did it with a dremel cuttout tool (not the engraver wich would have worked a whole lot better), wich is why its all scrappy looking.

actually, everything except the 1/4" rivet holes was done with a dremel, cutout, shaping, polishing and rounding.

I might get a howling rat this summer, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good sheath maker, that isn't expensive, cuz I think if I get it I might want to get a scout sheath for it? Thx

a dremel cutout tool, a knife, and a demel polishing wheel. if i had the engraving tool for the dremel, it would have turned out MUCH better looking then that...

what i need to do is carve out a coin stamp to heat up and melt it into the kydex every time. it would save effort, and be completely even every time

A dremel tool, I see. :D
Why I asked was, I have seen Aborigines burn pictures into wood with hot wire held with green bark, while another wire was heating in a branding fire. Some of them were very cleverly done. Actually I still have one that was done by an Aboriginal woman and given to me.

Here's the burnt board done with wire

She had four or five pieces of fencing wire in the fire and was handling them with green bark. I’ve had it for years and almost recently lost it in the rubbish throw out. I have tried it myself a couple of times to pass away the time but have never turned out a job even as remotely good as her work. Its about eighteen by fourteen inches:D
