Hows my grit progression?

I have an 800 chosera and 2000 chosera. Was thinking of adding a 5000 shapton pro and 8000 kitayama(I heard this supposedly gives a mirror polish comparable to 10k and 12k stones).

Am I using too many stones, or is there too big a jump in grit progression?

How would an 8000 shapton pro compare to the 8000 kitayama?

I am open to other suggestions. I mainly like stones that dish/wear slowly but can't really dish out the money for higher grit choseras.

I'm also reading that the nubatama 8000 and snow white is harder than the chosera stone of equal grit.

Multiple threads on the same subject is only going to give you that many more different opinions depending on what your asking.

The basic answer to your question is, probably not.

The Chosera stones are different from all the other stones you have mentioned except the Snow White.

The kitayama is a 8k stone and produces a 8k finish, many other 8k stones will do exactly the same.

The shaptons are coarser per the given grit so I would say your not going to get the refinement or good transition between them and your Chosera stones.

Think your best bet a to add the Chosera 5k and Naniwa Snow White. Beyond that you will get diminishing returns unless you are sharpening straight razors.
