Help! I am intoxicated with Strider!! :)

Has anyone come across with Strider's customised knives?
(In English, I am asking, "are they good?" :))

Also, a few more questions...

- do they make convex grind blades at all?

- do they use anyting elses except for ATS-34? (yes... I have something "exotic" in mind...)

- what kind of design format would they accept? (bit maps? gif? jpeg? autocad? 3D max?)

Jin, I may be wrong but I doubt they make many custom designs for folks. They are a very busy shop. Still, if you have an idea why don't you shoot them an email and see what Mick or Duane have to say? They do very fine work and you certainly would not be disappointed with any knife that you bought from them.

In addition to their regular line, Mick and Duane both make their own custom knives. Duane does ones such as the DAL, the D-9 and the kitchen knife. Mick does custom folders( nightmares), and some different fixed blades.

I dont know about them using other designs, best just to ask them in their forum.

You can order fully customs designs from Strider. Just make your design and email it to them. Choose your steel, shape, grind, handle shape, handle material, blade coating/finish, etc.

The current wait time for fully custom designs is over a year. Expect to pay a premium over there production pieces. They should cost about as much as their sole-authorship pieces, but it depends on what you want done.

They are currently swamped with military orders due to the Iraq mobilization, so response for this and any other inquiry will be slow at best.

Thank you, folks!

Looks like their reputation "survives" this forum at least!
So, I should get my cad going...
