The last sebenza i had came with 75% lock up, and so i was kind of turned off. I was wondering where the lock hits on the new insingo. I dont know why but i like early lock up.

50-75% lockup is within specs as per the Chris Reeve sticky. I would say you should email knife.art, or call them and ask to inspect the knife for you.

I don't know if anyone actually has one yet. They were released yesterday. The lock up should be the same as any Sebenza which should be 50-75%. Once I get mine either Thursday or Friday, I will let you know.

My large Sebenza locks up at 80% and CRK said that it's "well within our specs"

My small insingo locks up right around 50-55% and is a little earlier then I would like. My other 2 small sebenzas are around 60-70%.

I will check back in when it has broken in.

I guess i could be wrong, im just always worried about the lock bar wearing in, thats why at 30% i feel like i have plenty of wear left. I guess 50% plus would be safer so it wont slip.

I have an Umnumzaan that came back from CRK right around 80%. It hasn't budged since.

I believe that the "room to wear" theory is poor at best. Properly designed (and you know they are) the lock won't "wear" much at all. I haven't had a lock "wear out" ever.

Thalestin, where have you heared that? Any links I can read about it?

Thanks.

Ill try to find the post, it was quite a while ago. A guy had one just like that and his lock slipped. A couple other guys chimed in with a similar experience.

Got mine today, it's at 70-75% just like my other two sebenzas, standard fair from what I've experienced.

I had a different small sebbie I carried daily for six years and used heavily, the lock
stayed at the same mark the whole time so you probably don't have anything to worry about.

I washed mine and over the past week opened and closed it about 20 times and i swear it went from 60% to about 50%. I know it sounds crazy, but depending on how you hold the knife " lock side up or down" the amount looks different. Sebenzas sometimes have optical illusions as far as blade centering and lock up in my opinion. Everone ive ever had was perfect but i can see how people judge lock up percentages different.

I've two lg Classics, one is around 75-80%, my user, and the one in the box is about 50%. The user feels more "not going anywhere" to me, and hasn't moved since I got her.
