How's the sheath on the spydie perrin?

The sheath has the blade riding a little high for my tastes and perhaps does not hold it as well as I might like. I have not taken it into the bush yet but I will later this summer. The knife is absolutely great but we shall see if the sheath holds the knife securely enough. I will probably carry it in the cross draw positon since there are several carry options. The sheath is well put together despite my few concerns about the design.

I wanted a more positive lock for my Perrin. So, I had Skunkworks make me a sheath. However, the Spyderco Perrin package (knife and sheath) is a great set up.

I now own a drawpoint sheath for my Perrin from Mike Sastre. It holds the knife more securely than does the factory sheath and has larger holes to accomodate the IWB pull the dot snap from Blade Tech.

EDIT - I should note that while I prefer the Sastre sheath, the factory sheath is still pretty great: it just feels like it might not hold the blade too securely after the sheath gets worn down some. There are only two small bumps inside the lip of the sheath to secure the handle in. I'm just afraid that after hundreds of draws, these bumps would wear down and offer less security.

Funny, when I looked at one in a store, I had the same impression. I wondered if the retention was strong enough. Slipped out a little too easy for me. On other some other kydex sheaths with this problem, a thick rubber band wrapped tight near the neck of the sheath can really tighten it up. Dont know if that would work with this one or not.
The tighter you wrap the band the greater the retention. Downside is you need to replace the rubber band every once in a while. They decay.
