This was fun... these are really the strongest in their own categories. Busse makes really strong fixed blades and cold steel the strongest folders.

That is indeed tough wood.... we have another wood, african hard wood called Camelthorn which is absolutely destructive to a knife's edge... the only wood similar will be found in Australia. If you want to test a apex thats what you use.
 
Did you do any work on the factory apex?
And a follow on question, what degree apex do you like for a knife that size?
 
Geebus, mines at 30 dps from the factory.
I was wanting 20dps, that's a bunch of metal to remove.
