HRLM, almost perfect

So, I got my RMD and HRLM today and I'm truly impressed with the construction and feel of these blades. I prefer the size and shape of the HRLM, with the only exception being the choil. The size makes it nearly unusable, and pretty dangerous since the blade is sharpened right up to the choil.

I'd say a choil-less HRLM with the blade running all the way to the handle would be about the best blade shape/size I could imagine. Any Bussekin offerings out there that fit that description?

My one complaint is the choil too...it's JUST big enough to be dangerous. I'd opt for an enlarged choil over no choil though.

I think a choil has no place on a small knife like that, it removes too much precious cutting edge. Just my opinion, take it for what it's worth, squat.

Fair enough, just a different mindset. For my .02 if I have a small knife out chances are I'm using it to do close up precision work, in which case I'd like a choil. I can see both ends of the spectrum though. :)

Might have to do this. Do you have any pics?

I dont I will take some for you if I find time.
I just used a dremel with a sanding drum and took it slow, I removed 1/8th in from each side of the choil and now it feels perfect!
and I only lost 1/8th in of cutting edge

Yeah I didn't think it needed a heck of a lof more taken off....it's darn near big enough. I think 1/8 off each side would be just fine.

even with the small choil I find I prefer it to the RMD. Can't quite decide why.
