Hello . Im new on forum. I have question i have couple these lathe knife what type of steel it is? Thnx. Im from Europe.
 
Congradulations for a first time post and Welcome to the Forum! I am no way qualifed to answer that, but a lot of other people are who will come along and answser that most likely. That's what a great place this is, as its belived here, there is no dumb question. And I asked a lot of "Basic" ones that got answers to.
 
Ususally you need to be a paid member to upload images, but there are 3rd party image providers, like the greedy photobucket type but others are still free-ish out there, to post an image.
 
I find this page with similar knife photos...it is same marking stamp with flower logo..on steel. If anyone can say what type steel its ?! Thnx again.
 
I found it . It is Super HSS 10% Cobalt steel equivalent to M42 steel made by Jugorapid .

Factory was based in Croatia ,Zagreb . It was made in time of Yugoslavia.Company with long history. I will put some interesting info about company .
