I live in Canada, and as most people know it can and is difficult to get specific supplies and tooling. I have everything I need to make a heat treating oven, I just need the element. I ordered one from Amazon and it came just as the seller said with one exception... its 220V. Do any of you have a place that you know of that sells heating elements that can go up to 2000 degrees, that's under $100? If so, if you could leave me a link to the website that would be amazing. I have been brought to a halt for about 4 months with this project because of this issue.

What’s wrong with 220v most heat treat ovens are wired for 220-240v

Have you tried an eBay search? I got an element four years ago for a reasonable price.

Thanks for your help but I found a diffrent website called kilnparts.com. Go check them out for any kind of part you need!

Just wind your own element from kanthal. Maybe 20 bucks worth of kanthal (for a very beefy element), a couple of wood offcuts and a hand drill to make a winding jig. The same hand drill to power the winding mechanism. Use a 4 foot or so length of 1/4" steel rod for a mandrell. Takes about 15-20 minutes, to include making the jig.

How big is your oven your making? Is 120v going to be enough to heat it?
