HT Question

I plan on buying one of the smaller Striders, probably an HT, and I have two questions:

first of all, any user opinions? You people all happy with your HT's? Or should I opt for another small model, if so, why?

Secondly, the smaller knives are all offered with a kydex sheath. Could I possibly order an HT with a SOEgear sheath, basically the standard Strider sheath, or are these not made to fashion an HT? I would really prefer the regular sheat above the kydax one. Plain kydax sheaths are frowned upon by local laws..

I've got one of the earlier HT's in black coating/G-10 handle/SOE sheath...my recent ones have come with the kydex/Tec-Loc in cord wrap and Tiger stripe. I believe it is a matter of being clear in your order to your appropriate Dealer. Hope this helps...

I love the HT. It has kinda the best of everything mixed together into one mid sized package. Almost spear point, almost big, kinda small, serrations, plain edge, etc. One of my favorite designs. Unfortunately, I gave my last one to a buddy. One day I'll own another.
 
I really like the HT. It was my firt Strider, I think. It came with SOE sheath, Green cord and no stripes. Great little knife.

I like the one that Joe has. See if you buy that one (if you like G10)

I like the HT also. Good for EDC.
The last shipment of HT had the Kydex sheath.
I have a black cord with black SOE & kydex.

I have one just like Joe's, but custom sheathed by Skunkworks. It's a great do everything well knife. I have alot of miles on mine, and it is one of my keepers. I don't think they do them in G-10 anymore, but they are still great in cord wrap.
 
I have a HT, and love it. I bought mine back in May, and it had the green cord wrap handle, and a green SOE sheath. I sent it in to Strider , and had them make me a kydex IWB sheath , and had it re-wrapped in black cord so I could wear it on duty. The HT is a great field tool as well as a great self defence knife. I use the kydex sheath almost all the time, but I am glad I have the SOE sheath for when I start up backpacking again. I can't remember a HT owner that has said they were unhappy. Good luck, Reagan
 
very helpful comments. So the SOE sheath for the HT is out there.. Yep, backpacking was specifically what I had in mind, and indeed a sheath is better for those purposes. So, thanks again, and I'll put it on my things-to-acquire-in-the-not-so-distant-future list:D

Is it for sale or trade?
 
Sorry for the delay, been out of comms due to a virus and haven't checked in for awhile. That particular item has high personal value to me and isn't available for sale or trade. I believe, from an earlier discussion with Mick and Duane, that there are only about 3 of those around and I knew DB had one...I'm not sure of any others.
