Is it easy to deassist an HTM AXD and make it manual? I found one for a good price, and its assisted, but I hate assisted knives.

Pretty much, although you'll void the warranty taking it apart. Just involves removing a coil spring. You could also send it in to HTM and have them do it for you, perhaps.

Here's a better question: Is it possible for HTM to convert an assisted knife to one with bearings? That be would be awesome.

Might be possible. Would have to remove the coil spring assist mechanism and most likely mill out the inside of each handle scale to make room for a bearings and a race to hold them in. Race is the technical term for the shielded housing if I'm not mistaken.

And I'm back posting a bit more since I inquired with the shop about my custom Gunhammer I placed about 2.5 years ago. Things are also going better on my end. My knife might be coming up soon or might be another 120 days or so out. Depends. My steel is out of stock right now. m390. s90v is an option for me but only if Darrel can make the blade profile I want, which is none of the standard fare. Not a bowie, torpedo, tanto, or radian. It's a modified radian which I've only seen one more of.

I've removed the assist on mine as well as many ZT knives.
