I saw this knife for sale NIB for $199.00. Really (to me anyway) cool looking design, made with CTS-XHP steel.

I really did not know much about the knife or the steel. However, based upon what I could research and "Bladechick777" opinions, I placed an order. I am really excited about this knife arriving.

Does anyone else have/use/carry this particular knife or steel?

If so, what are your opinions? I have a VERY small collection, but, I believe I have some quality knives.

SOG Vulcan (VG-10)
Emerson/Protech (154-CM)
Zero Tolerance 0700 blk tactical (S30V)
Boker Kalashnikov (AUS-8)
Cold Steel Kobun (AUS-8)

and, on the way, the "Gunhammer"

CTS-XHP will by far outperform the steels you currently own. Nice knife for a nice price!

I think you made a great purchase! Let us know when it arrives! It should be a significant upgrade in steel from AUS-8 and better than S30v.

The DDR Gunhammer consistently have had fit and finish issues, so I'd check it over throughly once it arrives. One of the common complaint is the fact that the tip can cut you while the knife is in the pocket.

Really!! Anyone else have fit and finish issues?? The HTM " Gunhammer" seems to me to be a really nice knife.

Granted, I do not yet have this one in my pocket.

Hopefully, this will be a very nice knife.

I haven't heard of any issues with any HTM knife other than that one video posted by Nothing Fancy. He most likely got a lemon, if that's what you're referring to. If there are anymore please show. I could have just missed some. :)

Mine initially had issues but HTM went above and beyond to fix it. The experience has been entirely favorable, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one.

Nice choice. You'll likely really enjoy the knife if you like Flippers, Titanium, and Excellent blade steel.
As far as issues with them, I've only heard a few complaints.
The few people that have had problems just got a lemon and all companies have them.
Darrell is a good guy and will stand behind his knives.
I've had nothing but good experiences with him(have spoke to him) and his designs.

I think you'll enjoy your knife. =]

As a former moderator for the HTM/DDR forum, I'm gonna chime in and say that a lot of the issues with "lemon" knives coming out of the shop were as a result of a poor QC team. They have since been let go and a new team hired. Darrel stands by his product without question. Please note that my stepping down as mod had nothing to do with the QC team.

CTS-XHP is good stuff. I like it as much as m390.

I am really tempted by the CTS-XHP Gunhammer but I am waiting patiently for the sprint run S90V Gunhammer!!!

I concur with the others on this Mr. D WILL TAKE CARE OF YOU!!!!! So enjoy and be comforted in the knowledge that if you have any problems you will be taken care of.

The blade-steel is super. I had his custom folder some time ago; not the same knife. It was a great folder.

I've been curious about this knife. Does anyone know if you can get different scales for it?

I don't own one myself but bladechick has some good taste in knives.

Ok and when it gets here there needs to be pics!

I have the M390 version and it's one of the nicest knives I own. The $235 price was a bit of a hit for me, but I forgot all about that once I got it in my hands. It's ridiculously smooth, came ridiculously sharp, is still holding that edge, and it's the perfect size for my hand. I'm so happy with it. Hopefully you love it as much as I do.
