I have a DDR 5.5 and I was told that a assisted opener could be added.

Does anyone know that to be a fact - thanks for any help.

Also really need to find someone to change the tip down to tip up carry, anyone do that with a flair for the professional look ?.

If I had a drill prees I could do it easily, but dont own one.

Almost positive you can add an assist to the HTM 5.5 Mad Maxx. Tip up should be no problem. Let me double check and get back with ya.

Alright. Just got a reply back from Darrel. The clip can be done no problem. The assisted mechanism depends on the blade. I asked for clarification on that part. Apparently, the blade had to be one that was already designed for the assisted mechanism in mind. Whether yours is or isn't, can't be known until he takes the knife apart.

Thank you,how do I make the contact and again = THANKS

Is that a typo or is that how he spells his name.

I dont want to send an 'E' to nobody or the wrong person.

Thanks again
The two HH are correct. He has three email addresses. He uses all three, but that one gets the most use.

I just put the knife on the UPS truck and I am hoping its back before I miss it [ too late already ].

I am one that actually carries that blade,so I am hoping for the mod's to be done asap and I will be a happy camper.

Thanks for that information.

I forgot to finish this thread.

I got the knife back REALLY fast and they did the assisted opener and the clip was remounted to EXACTLY where I had marked it.

The best part was NO CHARGE and they even sent it in a new DDR case.

I was blown away and it has been in my pocket for well over a week - LOVE it.

That's awesome! I was kicking around the idea of getting my pocket clip moved for tip up.

I had mine put approx 1" from the bottom,to allow for a better grip and draw from a pocket.

Worked out perfectly and I now have the tip up carry that I insist upon.

I have a couple of blades that I really like, but dont carry due to tip down situation.

The B/M Skirmish and the Harsey Lone Wolf [ large, both of them ].
