Hubertus, Mikov Predator, and Other "Hunter" Style Autos?

I've always loved the Hubertus pocket knives, especially the ones with tools! To me they seem like the perfect blend of convenience and functionality and traditional style. One handed opening if you get an auto, a few gadgets to go with, and a nice size and shape for cutting food, hunting, fishing, and such. For those who don't know, here is a picture of one of their more optioned-out springers:

The problem for me is the price. These are not the easiest knives to find and when you do they cost $$$. I'm sure they are worth it, but it's just not something I feel comfortable carrying in my pocket all day every day. Just a few minutes ago I came across the Mikov Predator series. They are the same style knife but a bit cheaper, right around $100 depending on tools and handle materials. You can even get them in a DIY kit so you can make your own handle scales or put it together without the spring if you live in a place where autos are a no-no. There are more models out of stock than in, but that's not the end of the world. I'm glad to have finally found a Hubertus-style knife for a more reasonable daily carry price.

Has anyone had experience with these Mikov predator knives? Or Mikov in general? Are there any other brands making this style of knife for around $100 or less?

I think that this might be worth adding: AKC does make several different lever lock knives, but they don't have any with tools as far as I can tell. They also use the short, thick, Italian style lever and not the longer, slimmer lever like Mikov uses.

Be careful. Some AKC and hubertus are conterfieted by an infamous asian site, but not shotpullers though. I don't shoot so shotpullers don't float my boat. I do have a little Hubertus auto in a cigar pattern. It's sweet.

Autos are illegal to carry in my state, so I have no experience with those, but I do have several Mikov knives:

Quality is decent but not stellar. The backspring on the faux-stag hunting knife is very weak on closing, and came with some sharp burrs which needed to be sanded off - still a very solid piece but I think I may have been disappointed if I had paid full price for it. To be fair, it came in a crushed box and may have been a return or something. The saw blade is very sharp.

The spring on the 2 bladed metal penknife is also a little weak maybe, but the fit and finish is good and the blades nestle into the incredibly narrow well without touching anything.

The cheapo ones with the stamped metal handles have decent carbon steel blades and great spring action, but a little wobble when open and very cheap-feeling construction. I added the colored vinyl handle wraps myself.

The plastic handled one (also very inexpensive) is well put together, with flawless action and a very nicely finished blade.

There is a Slovakian site that seems to offer the full range of autos and reasonable shipping but I have never dealt with them.

Mikov is a well-established brand with an interesting if somewhat troubled history:

J Just Tom. I think you are the one who pointed me in Mikov's direction :thumbsup::thumbsup:

Not specific to Mikov Predator but I'm happy with their budget end products (Similar to Tom's pictured). They are a big enough company to produce not only knives but varying degrees of tools in general.

My guess is that their quality is all over the place in regards to price and product lines.
