I had a chance to use my Hidson bay for a little tree limb trimming, not the best tool for the job, but it did ok. Some sap and grime. Does join do spa treatment, just reshaprening?

To clean off sap residue, use peanut butter. The long chain fats break the bind of the sap. It works Great on hands and should work just fine on steel.

I would love to get my hands on one of these, I just don't have the extra funds for much of anything right...
Maybe some new employment opportunities will return my calls...

The HB is a damn fine knife, good to see you got some use out of it.

I personally don't think it needs a trip to the spa.
Use WD 40 to get the sap off and let the patina form naturally(i.e. keep using it)

I have cleaned up knives when people bring them by the shop, but I do not want to be involved with shipping them back and forth in case of loss by the PO.

No problem for no spa treatment, I will try the peanut butter, just because it sounds unusual and crazy enough to work. Plus it forces me to keep trying new things. Much appreciated.

Cool! I know it works on my hands. It is my trick to cleaning up after a tree job, if it involved any conifers.
