Hey Folks, I've been dragging 11 year-old Son of Beanbag up and down a bunch of mountains lately to get him in top shape for his first big wilderness trip which is in less than a week. He will be hiking and kayaking for a week in NH and ME.
We hiked up Anthony's Nose near Camp Smith and as usual the artillery was thumping and reverberating through the valley. We decided to keep to the trail.
Son of Beanbag climbing the steep stuff testing his new (used) backpack:
My wife and her brother had some business to tend to, so I was responsible for four kids that day.
It ain't a day in the woods with out a good fungus shot:
The summit view- Looking west across the mighty Hudson River to Bear Mt. and the Bear Mt. Bridge, where the Appalachian Trail crosses the Hudson:
We got lucky and were able to snap some freight train pictures:
Looking SW. (You can see the train going on to that causeway):
Of course we picked lots of blueberries for pancakes that night.
Thanks for looking.
Bean
