huge colonial folder???

wondering if anybody is familiar with this type of folder
ive never seen one like it, looks like a monster, would just like to know what these were called, i am not the seller nor do i think i would bid on it since the blade looks short. Just curious so i can keep my eyes peeled for one of these, in better shape

[Sword and Shield]

It's a very early US Pilot's survival knife, sometime in the 50s, IIRC. The main blade has been broken square, as you can see.

Can't get the link to work, but it is probably a pilot survival knife from WWII. They were made by Colonial and by United Machining of Grand Rapids Michigan. There is a sheath for these that is much more valuable than the knife. here is a pic of my United one.

The sheath is canvas with a U.S. stamp on the flap.
