It's a very early US Pilot's survival knife, sometime in the 50s, IIRC. The main blade has been broken square, as you can see.
 
Can't get the link to work, but it is probably a pilot survival knife from WWII. They were made by Colonial and by United Machining of Grand Rapids Michigan. There is a sheath for these that is much more valuable than the knife. here is a pic of my United one.
