I just wonder, Camp Tramp costs $128.95 if i order from the US.site, and $234 if i order from Germany?

Markup, import duties, transportationcosts, greedy sellers trying to capitalie on US dollar plummeting so low and pretending it is still at same level where it was 5 years ago, etc. Don't order US-made products from Germany, as simple as that. COntact your postalservice's customs department and ask what the importing restrictions regarding knives are (price, dimensions). If that knife fits those requirements then by all means order it from the US. If not (price-wise) just find somebody willing to help you with the customs papers (CN22/CN23 forms by declaring lower value and labeling item as a 'gift') - many eBay sellers who sell internationally will do that; most businesses based in the US will *not* do that.

Of course i would rather order from US, but in the post "Important announcement to our European customers " they say one must order from Germany, as i understand it anyway. I live in Sweden.

AndersP,

If you're going to "import" one from America you're probably going to pay about 35% customs fee and 25% VAT on the customs fee amounting to $233 anyways.

Hopefully you'll receive your Camp Tramp faster and with less "red tape" via Germany.

Well, yes, but it's not always one have to pay costom fee and vat, sometimes one "get a way"

When I ordered my Camp Tramp and Howling Rat they marked the value on the customs declaration as $50 so I only paid about 200 SKr ($25-30) in extra tax.

Now if we could get SwampRat to charge the CC $50 for the combo we would be in business... ;)

This was before the announcement to the European costumers though.

Where in Sweden do you live, I live in Karlstad - if you live close by you can have a closer inspection of the CT to convince you...

Have an US-based friend order one for you and send it to you ? An indiidual is usually far less concerned with putting whetever 'value' they see fit on that CN22 label ... It might take longer but amost 100% price difference sounds simply outrageous.

Hi Swede :)
I live in Jonkoping.
I now one can do that, the store i bought my Wave from helped me in that way. Not all stores are willing to "falsefy" the papers though.

Well Anders - Jönköping is just a 4 hour drive away... ;)

If you happend to be in the area you are welcome to stop by.
