I was lucky enough to win one of the most generous giveaways ever here. When I got home from the firehouse this morning I had a box waiting for me. Someone had encased it in about 2 rolls of duct tape. After I opened it I knew why. This thing has a perfect edge on it :) I have never had a Camillus Becker this one seems to be in unused condition. I think it has been sharpened but I dont know what the factory edges looked like. This edge is perfectly even slightly convex and highly polished. The coating seems to be inbetween the old Ka-Bar smooth coating and the new Ka-Bar textured coating. rkmoore also included a very nice Spec-Ops sheath. Im grinning from ear to ear the only problem is its so nice and they dont make them any more, so do I use it? I think you all know I dont do safe queens but this one has me thinking.

My vote is use it. Granted, they are kinda rare, but you can't take it with you when you go, so use it while you can.

I have a Camillus 7 as well. Mine was carried in Iraq but it looks like it was never used. The edge on it looks similar to your and is very very sharp. I have never had a Ka-bar Becker with a grind like this. You can kinda see it in this pic.

congrats. sweet knife. what an amazing GAW. I know what you are talking about. I have an unused Camillus BK7SG (serrated) that is still in the box. I just can't make myself use it. This is however, making feel better about not jumping on a pricy Reinhardt Kukri and/or a Blackjack BK5 that is currently on a popular auction site right now. doesn't seem to make much sense to spend so much on a knife that you probably won't ever use.
 
Those things aren't rare, they're very common. Oh, they're awesome though. use it. Ride it like a pony.

I used to play "just the tip" too... But not with my brother, that is just weird!

I just got home and decided to check in with y'all and what's the first thing I see? Psy got his Cam 7 and might not use it?!? Well I can't really blame him. I had it for a while and never got past shaving a little arm hair. :D

What ever you decide I hope you enjoy having it as much as I enjoy having this place to hang out.

Psy, you need to send that thing to me since you have a BK-77 already, and I have yet to experience the joy that is a BK-7. Just sayin ....
