I have been getting into the larger U.S. made slipjoints as of late, most recent purchase a Schrade Walden 225, which I love and have been hunting and losing a number of bidding wars on EBay for Oldtimer 225 and 125's.
I have a bunch of trappers and large Stockmans but I was wondering what the largest 3 blade U.S. made slipjoints were.
Anyone have info on what large to extra large 3 blade SJ'S were produced in the States over the years?
Any help would be appreciated.:D

Thanks,
Kap:D

There have beem a number of stockmans made in the 4-1/4" closed lenght, like the Case 6375 and the Queen #49. Not many companies have offered them larger than that, but some have.

Western States made a very large one Pre-WWII....I believe 4-3/8" closed.

Its contemporary counterpart is the Moore Maker #5304 jumbo round bolstered stockman in yellow bone made by Queen (I happen to have one 4 sale).....it is IMHO the finest current production stockman on the market.

Probably made by Queen, here's a Case Classic 6340 which is 4 3/8" long.

Looks suspiciously like the Moore Maker ;) !

Waynorth, I like your Case Classic. I have been trying to pick one up on Ebay.
Winchester offers a 4 3/8 Stockman Whittler. I have one in red bone. Larry

Don't forget the old Buck 307 Wrangler... discontinued, but you can still find mint ones on ebay....

I have one and it is a really solid knife, nice in the hand and is about 4.5 inches closed.

Hi gang-
I think the OT858 is the biggest stockman I've seen or owned. I got 1 new about 15 years ago at a Woolworth's store for $10. They had about 5 or 6 of them. Mine is stainless and you could split timbers with it!
Some other biggies are the Eyebrand Jumbo yellow stockman, the Buck 307 and Case #6375-all of these are 4.25", except I think the Eyebrand is 4.5"ish.
I just got a redbone Marbles "M.S.A. '01 GLADSTONE" stock yesterday for my 40th birthday and I measured it to be 4.25", and it may be the nicest stockman I have had-at least as nice as my 3 Case #6375 knives.
Good luck and buy what you like! That's why I have so many stockies!
Best-MC

Queen makes a Cattle King stockman with square bolsters that is larger than their 49. It's roughly the same size as the large Case stockman.

The Cattle King is the #49, same size as the Case 6375. Queens slightly smaller stockman is the #9.

I finally took some big stockman picks to post here. These knives are:

1) Moore Maker 1998 pattern 5304 in smooth natural bone, 4.5", Queen made

2) Moore Maker 1996 pattern 5304 in smooth green bone

3) Ontario/RAT Folder in Ram's Horn with D2 Steel. 2006, Queen made, on the #49 frame I believe. 4.25"

4) Case 2000 6375 in Chestnut Bone. This one's my user and doesn't really belong with these other serial numbered drawer queens, but I didn't want her to get jealous.

I have a Remington Large Stockman that measures 4.25 inches. I think they were made by Camillus.
