Was the "Go thread" posted on this forum at 9:29 EST indeed the "REAL GO THREAD" as per the "rules" or have I just been run over by a herd of hogs? Have to admit my back does feel a bit itchy.

I think the big letters trump! They seem pretty clear!

If they said: I WILL POST THE REAL "GO" THREAD AS A STICKY AT OR NEAR THE TOP OF THIS FORUM AND/OR THE BUSSE COMBAT WEBSITE FORUM...... different story.

O.K. you are certainly entitled to your opinion, but the start was at 9:15 est. as officially announced on the Busse Combat Website Forum.
 
I suppose it is only my opinion but it does seem fairly clear that the rules state that the "Real" Go Thread would be posted on Blade Forums. There is nothing to indicate the "Real" Go Thread would be placed on the Busse Combat Website Forum. I think, based on the rules as stated, that it would be up to Jerry to ensure that the Blade Forum Go Thread was in place before the Busse Combat Website Forum Go Thread went up.

Have I weasled my way to honorary "Hog" status yet?
 
Gilean, have you read the go thread on Busse combat? Hate to pop your dream bubble, but I think you're grasping for a technicality. Check over there and see what you think.

I almost sent my Email at 9:15 just because. Seems like most of the sales that are a "between" time, are just that. I was just to dumb to risk it.
 
Not even close. The first occurance of the "GO" post was on the Busse Combat forum. Since the BF server experienced severe overload, "GO" was announced on the home forum :)

I'm glad I missed the 2115 "GO" post at The Busse Combat website... I really can't afford that AK anyway. Not an issue now. Oh well, easy come easy go:thumbup: It's all good
 
Yeah, I'm not getting too worked up over whether I scored or not. There'll be more INFI out there somewhere.

What part of "You might not of read the whole thing" are you having a hard time understanding? The devil's in the details! Did you go to the busse website forum yet? Might want to check it out.

Gillean, Dude,

You will never be a Hog unless you get a sense of humor, and thicker skin. Lots of people got shut out due to server overload, not just you. Its rough when 100s of hogs are pushing to the same small trough. Just smile and learn for next time...
 
I wasn't going to post to this thread, however after Gillean's last post I feel compelled.

I'm a HOG, I admit it. I also try to treat others as I want to be treated, I try to be kind, helpful on the forums, giving of my time and any info I have. I do this because I like to be part of this community.

Some things I've noticed about the knife community and HOG's in general. They are very helpful, they will go out of their way to be of assistance, they will often sell pieces of their collections to help someone else out. They will sometimes give pieces of their collections away to help others out. They usually do these things for the people that want to become a part their community, in this case a HOG.

Some things they don't like(including me)
Whining, complaining, blaming others.

Other things they will probably not do
Help whiners, complainers and people that blame others by answering questions, or find pieces that they are having trouble finding.

We are a very giving community, no one had any better chances at getting a piece last night. It was a level playing field.

I'm a huge fan of personal responsibility, I teach it to my kids and I practice myself. If I screw up, I admit it, take responsibility and don't blame others.

I feel the other HOG's feel the same way.

Everyone saw the same rules you did, there were server problems here and on the Busse forum, life happens, deal with it.

In short I've found that others will be more willing to help out when they think you are nice and really trying to fit in. Not complaining about how "unfairly" you have been treated.

That is my opinion on the subject, take it or leave it, however I think you'll be able to score more INFI if you choose to "take" it

Been to the Busse Web Forum; Read the whole thing; Got a thick hide; Got a sense of humour.

In debate, there is such a thing as an "ad hominem" (against the man) attack wherein the side which is unable to defend it's position resorts to attacking the character, appearance, "sense of humour", "reading ability", etc. of the other side. None of that proves their case. Once again the statement:

You guys may want to post your orders again "Just in case!"

It wasn't negated. Simply another option was added in the (I'm only guessing here) event of a problem. Since the BF server took a cr@p with the high server load, the alternate posting posit was used.

IMHO, if the go hadn't been posted on the Busse Forum, the BF server might STILL be locked up... and we'd have a bunch of sleep HOGS.

The rules of life change as the environment changes but it doesn't negate LIFE being an adventure. Adapt, improvise, and have fun, bro.
 
For the sake of the good Lord, I wouldn't blame Jerry if he loaded all these sort of knives up and dumped them at the bottom of his lake! Every one had server problems. As for the posting at the Busse home forum, that is common practice going back to the very first sale Jerry made like this. Maybe Jerry should post a sticky disclaimer at the top of the forum in bold letters saying "DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE YOU GET AHEAD OF YOURSELF."

Since I came here nearly four years ago, this has been a place to meet salt of the earth folks who would give you the shirt off of their back. I have first hand experience and second hand knowledge of some great acts of generosity and kindness from the folks here. There is always someonevoicing their discontent after a free for all like we had last night, but that doesn't make it any easier to stomach.

I guess we'll just have to wait for the Boss Hog to send out confirmations. I did all my slop rolling last night, but I think Eric summed it up very well (as he tends to). I'm very new here, but spend more time on this forum than I should, great folks, good fun.

Wait a minute... I just reviewed your other posts... I think we may have a rat in the Hog pen just stirring up the natives... Maybe you are playing the game better than all of us.

Either way, best of luck and I'm sure several people ordered a few extra's!
