Looks like something for climbers who are afraid of heights. Or maybe campers who don't like water getting in the tent. Come to think of it I don't like water in my tent.

Let's say there's a logical reason behind this. How would a backpacker or two do it? That has to be plywood on the bottom, no?

Hmmmm.... what about light, strong criss-crossed crossbeams? Perhaps even cut from the forest? Doable?

looks like a question wishing for an answer. my tents with a ground cloth never let me get wet , even in heavy downpours.---dennis

If it is plywood, it's going to be tough to pack around. Plywood or not, you just know that floor is going to bend.

If you're older than ten :D you can hang a portaledge in a similar manner but it isn't going to be very backpacking friendly due to the weight and bulk of the equipment.

Google "tree camping" for alternatives.

I really like the idea. I even have a tree that would hang it nicely. I think I'll stick with my hammock though.

Whilst I can't imagine that anyone would be, if you are interested in this, I could go to their store and check the thing out.

Does anybody have an indication of the price? I haven't seen any available online.
