I just got a couple of Hultafors GKs from Paul at workwearcanda.....it's a great rig....I'm a fan of Moras...have used and abused lots with great satisfaction....the GK is carbon steel with a nice sheath similar to the mora MG.....the whole knife seems just a little bit bigger in the grip, heavier and stronger....Hultafors calls it a heavy duty knife...
they are well priced like Moras and are used by the Swedes for similar purposes....the GK has a noticeable secondary bevel......Hultafors implies that extra bevel works best for woodworking and industrial use...it cuts wood and slices cardboard very well right out of the shipping carton....
will it replace my moras?...not likely.....there's a place for light and sharp....
just as there's a place for bulk, strength and heft.....
the Swedes seem to have an afinity for sporting and industrial knives which are practical, sharp and economical....(I refuse to call them cheap) ......a disposible tool.....
