I was reading a post by CelloDan CelloDan a few minutes ago, telling about about his latest boating and fishing adventure, and one of his photos reminded me that I have a Normark Filleting Knife that needs a new home. Normark knives were very popular among anglers here in the 1970's, when I was a fishing-mad teenager, though I didn't own any of their knives until I was older. Strangely, Normark seem to rebrand knives made by other companies, EKA, Martinni, and in this case Fiskars. The knife is blunt, but appears to have been used lightly, if at all. From what I can find online, it's regarded as 'vintage fishing tackle'. I know a lot of folks here go fishing, so if anyone has a use for a filleting knife, just indicate that, and post a fishy pic if you want to, and I'll pick a name out of the hat in a couple of days

Thanks

Jack

Nearly forgot the pics (just took them now with my point and shoot camera)! :D

I am happy you enjoyed the fishing photos Jack and that they may have inspired in part your GAW !
Not an entry for me as I have recently being the recipient of the Porch's generosity.

Looking forward to seeing more fishing photos here

I enjoy fishing on my little adventures and having a meal on shore afterwards.
My setup is very basic, usually just with a drop shot rig ... I am a humble fisherman 🤓

Here are "a few" pics lol 😎

Nice GAW Jack, that'll be a great filet knife for some angler. Not in as I have a number of good filet knives already, but cannot resist the offer of posting some fishing pictures! OH

I have wondered if Normark had bought every Nordic company.
Sorry to be another not-an-entry, but I haven't fished for years, if not decades.
That's a very nice knife and sheath, and the winner will thank his their lucky stars for it.

A selfless and generous gesture, Jack

Will be going back to see this friend later this year - we can use the knife on whatever we catch, and, I'll gift it him when I leave..........life isn't anywhere as much fun out there anymore.

Thanks for all the entries and kind comments folks, I love the photos, some great fishermen here :) The knife is nothing fancy, but I hope one of you will find it useful :) I'll let this run until tomorrow, and then pick a name, and get it on its way. Good luck to everyone who has entered :)

Fishing companions on Brou Beach...zero fish.
I took The Countess to the old ferry wharf in Brices Bay Narooma ...where the world famous Oysters are grown...zero fish...
Had my trusty BPS knife which I put in the sude pocket of the car door. ....We bought fish and chips back at Dalmeny and sat on the headland watching Humpback Whales go past...Old mate Steve walked past and had a chat...he was going to suit up and go for Cray...Later that day I saw Steve at the pub...you missing a knife in a black leather sheath?...not sure ...He found the BPS lying in the grass where it had fallen out of the door as we were leaving...😳🫣....What a good guy...I owe him beer.
So yes Im in because quite obviously when it comes to piscatorial pasttime I need all the help I can get..
Cheers and good luck to all...

Thanks for the generous GAW, Jack; that looks like a fine fillet knife (but I've never used a fillet knife, so what do I know? 🤓)!:cool::cool::thumbsup:

Not an entry for me.
I haven't fished for years; my only "angling" in the past 55 years has been geometric. And I have at least 2 toothpick/fish knives.
(But that doesn't stop me, on weekly grocery runs, from proceeding through the dairy section of the store into sporting goods to the fishing stuff on the far wall and looking over the Rapala fillet knives (many with Marttiini blades). But I always say, "When would I ever use a knife like this?")

I enjoy the pics in this thread, and I really liked meako meako 's story about getting his lost knife back before he even knew it was lost!

Good luck to all the entrants!! 🤓:thumbsup:
