Some day I will be moving permanently to a state with high humidity and lots of salty air. I have been buying Busse's in the hope that they will be able to survive in that climate. Haven't personally exposed any to this environment yet. Anyone have experience in this area?

High humidity and salty water? Chances are slim that we'll never bump into each other on the street, lol :)

Ummmmm..... I have a little experience in that area.... :D

ALL THE BUSSE'S WILL SURVIVE !!!!! ;)

oh and bring some Marine Tuff cloth's... they work great !!!!! I wipe everything down with that.... :D

My Busse knives have not shown any traces of rust from when I lived at the edge or a temperate rainforest near the shore on the foggy central California coast. I expect you won't have a problem.

Kalimalena,

Marine Tuff cloths? Where do you get them?

I am on the other side of the island from you at the moment. How did your electrons get to Ohio faster than mine tonight?

Kalimalena is on the Windward side so he is a "bit" closer to Ohio :D

Seriously, I have not had a problem with my Busses; users or soon to be users. I just rinse them under the faucet and llet them air dry. I live quite close to the water and only have had problems with stuff of lesser quality or things that I have neglected.

mine have stood up extremly well to being around salty peanuts and tears in my beer...

which are both salty and humid. also blood has no effect on mine if whiped off in a reasonable amount of time...

which is also wet, salty and therefor humid

You can get the cloths online... just do a Yahoo search... or call around to the local Gun shops closest to you.... I think Sports Authority in Honolulu has it.... Good luck on that one....

Besides.... If you ever find it.... Rust is the way our knives call out to us that they miss us and need to be fondled with love and attention.... :D

Hmmmm.... don't know about the electrons... Beep Beep !!! :D

Thanks to all who answered. I have done a preliminary web search but will look locally today. It is raining- so that is 100% humidity. I should be worried more about my non-INFI carbon steel blades. With numerous "children" I don't have time to give them enough lovin everyday.:)

"i often carry my satin as is my skivvies,,; it don't get much saltier or humider."

I've been using a Busse Pepper Shaker as a pocket knife for about a year and a half. It has shown no signs of rust from always being in my front pocket.

I really like the Pepper Shaker. I just can't spare the funds right now for one... maybe it's just can't justify the funds?! I have been sporting a 2nd hand Assault Shaker in my jacket chest-pocket for a month now, and it works well. Also picked up an Active Duty with Satin finish for a classy EDC. It's all good
