Good Afternoon Fellow Hogs,

I'd like to dedicate this to all new and prospective Busse Knife Owners, Forum Members, and Knife enthusiasts alike. One thing we all share in common is our love for fine blades. When entering someone's home courtesy, humility, and respect go along way. The Busse Combat sub-forum has been one of the friendliest and most welcoming sub-forums that I've visited. It's because of that -- that has made feel comfortable asking stupid questions or sharing unpopular thoughts. I'd like to thank everyone who moderates this sub-forum and anyone affiliated with Busse/Bussekin Knives for being wonderful hosts.

To new or prospective Busse Knife owners and/or forum members -- remember that you're essentially entering the "home" of someone else when visiting this sub forum. Treat people with respect and show some humility and in return I'm sure you'll find a fountain of information and countless laughs and memories. I just got off the phone with a certain professional knife sharpener in the Los Angeles area and to say the conversation was unpleasant would be an understatement. This business owner/individual felt justified in showing irritation with some of the most basic questions any potential customer might have. While I won't go into too much detail, I can say that I was mocked for asking if he can produce a 40 degree inclusive angle on my NMSFNO. He claimed that an edge angle is the same thing as an inclusive angle and that anyone who said differently was clearly unfamiliar with all things related to knives. I hope others can hear me vent about this so that they can realize how off-putting that kind of tone can come across. Thanks everyone for listening and thank you Busse Knives for being the wonderful gracious hosts that you are.

-Rob

Sorry to hear about the bad noise... And glad to have this great place to hang out from time to time!

And by the way, I'm in So Cal too... Maybe a get-together of so cal hogs for a hike or some such activity is in order. Being in the area and wondering about reprofiling a few knives, I can't help but wonder who this person is... I'd like to know who not to waste my time with.

I love it hear and have got and am still meeting great people here! I've learned and still learn a lot everyday and if I'm every wrong I admit it. But being mocked and argumentative is just sad! Sorry you had to deal with that!

I hear you Rob, and agree!

If there is a group of us in the north east..... I'd very much like for us to get together.... There are great hiking places around Maine/Vermont/ and New Hampshire....heck, anywhere is good:thumbup:

Awesome! Nice to see fellow CA residents who don't think knives are the devil's seduction tool. Feel free to email me at RobAbyane@yahoo.com if you want.

Thanks guys! Yea in general some people are tone deaf and have no idea how miserable, unpleasant, and rude they come across. Hope you all have better experiences in your local communities! :)

Lol...Rob and I had a very pleasant exchange...it was quit funny he is a true gentleman! But I live in a crappy city so people suck here but I leave the house so rarely now I don't notice.

This is a great place, everyone here is so friendly and welcoming. It makes me proud to be a part of something so wonderful. You guys are all incredible!

Who needs to be an arrogant ass over knives....I say you got off cheap that someone you don't need to do business with.

Stick around this place, we are a bunch of friendly pigs.

Yes! I have been active in several other forums, and this one - especially the Busse folks - demonstrate the highest degree of a sometimes nearly undefinable element known as "class."

A tip of my hat to all of you. Steve Myers/Beaverton, Oregon

Now - let's get back to that Exchange. Received an ASHBM and SJTAC already this week. Will it never end...?
