Guys,
I have an extra hundie burnin' a hole in my pocket... I have knife fever... Put 2 and 2 together, and I'm comin' home tonight with a new knife!
My issue is, I've bought 7 spydies over the last 2 months, and I have a small sebbie, a William Henry, a R/W tactical, and some Benchmades. I'd like to try something new. A folder, able to carry in suit pants, thin, sheeple friendly, with a little design flair. Good quality steel is a plus.
I'd appreciate suggestions!

Why not a SOG sculptura? It is quiet different from the other folder lines, it has a neat little design that would not scare nobody, and I find it looks really cool. Though I think it handles any chore you could ask from an EDC...

Schweeeet, Wade!
I like the fact that it's VG-10, too. My CF Delica is VG-10, so I'm familiar with it's properties.

Still open for more suggestons, tho'!

I like the Kershaw DoubleCross:

# Steel: AUS6 stainles-steel
# Handle: Polish bolsters, staminawood inlay
# Blade-A: 2 3/8"
# Blade-B: 1 7/8"
# Closed: 3 1/2"
# Weight: 2.2 oz
# One-handed opening & closing
# An inductry first. A single locking liner that secures both blades

What the other Jeff said,I am looking for one myself right now.

Jeffs,
I handled some of the kershaw knives at lunch today. I was very impressed with the fit and finish. They (the retailer) didn't have a model 1660, which appears to meet all my criteria. I'm gonna look around for one.
Thanks for the input!

Tomarrow is Saterday, take a couple hour drive up to Smokey Mountin knife works and take a look at all the Kershaw line.Hell if you leave early enough I will meet you at the interstate and go with you.

the 1660 is currently my favorite EDC! a great knife, for a wicked-low price. be sure to put it on your list.

Jeff,
Where exactly is Smokey Mtn. Knife Works? We have some jobs in Tennessee I need to check on. Sounds like a site visit's in order!
Damn...so many knives, so little time.

Fred

Heres how to get there. If you haven't been and live so close it is well worth the drive.I think it is the largest knife store in the world.
The SMKW experience will leave you awed by service at its finest, reminiscent of the full-service retailing of small-town USA, complemented by Smoky Mountain hospitality! SMKW is conveniently located at the gateway to the Great Smoky Mountain National Park, in the heart of the Southeast's premier tourist and shopping destination, approximately 30 miles east of Knoxville, Tennessee. When traveling east/west on I-40 take interstate exit #407 from I-40. As you follow signs toward Sevierville, Pigeon Forge, and Gatlinburg, SMKW is only 4 miles from I-40, on Highway 66, on the bank of the scenic French Broad River. You can't miss our big blue roof!

I like the Kershaws also, Fred, but do check out the Seki-Cut. Very high quality and very classy. No pocket clip though, but if that's an issue the William Henry clip case will fit it.

How do you make that drive in a "couple" of hours? My map has it at about 240 miles. And I thought I drove fast.

Rob

Well may be a 4 hour drive.May be a weekend, drive up and stay overnight and do the other Pigion Forge stuff too.

There is also a couple places in Knoxville one of which is Star sales. They used to be a really big importer of knives.I know that there were some case knives and some imports that they alone sold.I haven't been up there in a long time,I have been meaning to get up there, might be some real rare goodies still in stock. Not many people think about them being a knife store.

Those Seki Cuts are super nice! We have been impressed with them! Paul
