Hell .... even if someone knows of any source material like books, links, etc. that'd be a fantastic help.

I'm starting to think it'd be a helluva lot easier if is was looking for something more popular like a katana ....

This isn't really my specialty so I can't give you a lot of hard-core information, but...

The Sword Forum, to whom we are allies with, has a lot of devoted readers and posters on their forums who could likely help. Go to http://www.swordforum.com and browse the forums. Ask a question or two, tell them ya were referred from over here and I'm sure some fellas would be more than willing to aid you. Good luck.

Thank-you for the referral Robert, I've been there but aside from some historical texts, there really wasn't alot of info to be gained from their forum .... great place though!

Sorry, can't help you with the sabre but I thought I'd say hi to a fellow Hungarian and Canadian.

Szia Suveges!! Hogy van?

Sorry if this isn't quite on topic, but have either of you heard of a traditional Hungarian folk style of fighting emphasizing kicks? I have heard there is a traditional foot-fighting style practiced in Hungary, particularly emphasizing kicks from mid-air or very low positions?

Khazar Kid: Hmmm ..... I can't say that I'm familiar with that fighting style, but seeing that may have Hungarian origins has definitely piqued my interest! I'll see what I can find out .......!

Does anyone else have info on this particular martial arts style???

My mom and aunt used to speak Hungarian around the kids. You try to take the two of them looking at you, turning to each other, saying a few foreign words, and then laughing their heads off. Just try to maintain your dignity.

Incidentally ( non-knife but sharp pointed ) I'm told that the term Hungarian is a corruption of the Turkish for "ten arrows".

Rusty: May I ask who told you about the word "Hungarian' being a corruption of a Turkish phrase? I'd be interested in hearing more about that, because I am currently doing independant studies on the historical origins of the Hungarian people and their language.
