ok im sure you all have seen the Hunted....and im sure you all have gotten this question and its just the matter that i havent found it while looking around.....what is that darn knife in it....it looks so nice and sharp.....thanks
 
Nate, it's a Dave Beck WSK. The initials stand for wilderness survival knife. He made them back in the late 80's and briefly started making them again for a few years after the movie came out. I think he stopped again about a year ago due to health problems, although I could be wrong about that. TOPS makes a mass produced one, and Jensen Elite Blades down in Australia also makes a similar model. Here are the links to both of them.

I've heard positive things about both, though I've never owned either one. I have used other sawback TOPS knives and I find them to be moderately effective, though like many sawbacks they work better for notching than actually cutting. They're basically human powered chainsaws in terms of design eg opposing pitch square teeth. The steel is 1095 which I found easy to re-sharpen but it does rust if you don't really keep an eye on it.

wow thanks i really love that design too and from what i hear around the warthog...the only massproduced knife with "same" design isnt that great...so my thinking is when i become better with knife making then i shall make my own to my own design this wont be for a while but some day i vow it shall happen....
 
not bad but i dont like a few thing about that dont get me wronge if i had money i would probly buy it but making it would be cheaper then i can change it more to my needs....
