Finished this up last night.

I forged this back in Aug. as a knife for my brother but this one just looked wrong. I wasn't convinced by the heat treat (it was before I had Parks#50) and the shape... well to put it nicely my friend told me it looked like a butter knife. :p

Here's the pic.

I put it on the wall and then just at the tail end of finishing the walnut handled knives, I got the idea to regrind and re-heat treat this and turn it into better looking hunter.

Hope you like this one.

4 1/8" blade in 1095 OAL of 8 1/2"
between 5/32" and 3/16" at the ricasso with distal taper
416ss guard and pin
stabilized redwood burl handle

I'd say that was an improvement all right, though "butter knife" might have been a bit harsh. Good looking knife.

Thanks. Yeah I still joke with him about the butter knife comment.

Is the photo light enough? I'm on a mac and I've seen my photos on others' pc computers (though it might be more the monitor) and they've seemed dark. I don't want to lighten it too much or the blade gets washed out.
Guess I should sort out my lighting.

Pics look okay to me, but monitors vary wildly. I've seen my own pics on my Dad's 'puter and they look super-dark.

I like the blade shape in the first pic!! But of course it looks good after the regrind as well w/a handle on it. :)
