I want to know if it is possible to make a hunter orange micarta. I know how to make micarta but it is usually made in dark colors because of the dark color of the fiberglass resin. so i was just wondering if hunter orange micarta is possible to make because i don't want to by g10 because of heath reasons.

Have you tried using bright card stock? Or maybe upgrade to the west systems epoxy resin so it's clear.

Or...cut up a Hunter orange vest, go to ace hardware and get fiberglass resin and go for it:)!

West system resin
Orange resin dye
Orange dyed cloth ( burlap and canvas are best)

Shade Tree phenolics makes it for me. They are in The Exchange. Great for hunting and fishing knives.

What health reasons? Micarta or mycarta dust is no "better" for you than dust from G10 or carbon fiber. Wear a respirator, or work it wet when using either one.

ShadeTree Laminates does make some nice handle materials indeed; I got some burlap micarta from them at BLADE and like it a lot. They also make some stuff with glow-in-the-dark powder mixed into the resin, that's pretty cool too. For bright colors I just use G10 from Alpha Knife Supply.

Jarrett is right, the west systems resin will work much better for the purpose.

Thanks for talking me up, gentlemen!

Here is better representation of the true color of tangerine:
