Finally got a new heat gun to make a sheath for this one.

This knife is my first screw on handled knife.

Specs are:
Steel: ATS-34 Satin Finish
Blade: 5"
OAL: 9 5/8"
Handle: Black Canvas Micarta
Screws: 4-40 Button Head Torx
Sheath: Concealex

As always questions &/or comments are welcome.

Thanks for looking,
Sean

Very nice! Long clip points are my favorite and the handle makes a perfect match. I think I would have brought the scales a little farther forward to cover more of the integral gaurd and round it out a little, but its very nice looking as is :)

Looks good. I like leather sheaths more than Concealex/Kydex, but I am sure others will prefer this type of sheath.

I like it - its a nice, clean working pattern with a great looking finish. The handle size is fine, IMHO, but if you are going to use Kydex, I also suggest extending the Micarta along the integral guard. This allows a "flare" of the handle contour and makes moulding the sheath a lot easier to work in a retention point. Are you threading the tang ? Some makers suggest using a bushing so that any impact against the handle slabs won't rip / break or bend the screws. Jason.

Thanks for the comments guys. I will look at making the scales a little longer in the front on the next one.

Yes I am using a threaded bushing inside the handle to screw into. This seems to work very well. Someone a while back (on Bladeforums)suggested using threaded standoffs for screwing into, definitely a good call.

Thanks again,
Sean
