Hunter w/Elk handle

Here's a knife that represents the first one I've forged. Forged from an 1/8" Nicholson file, then clay coated and heat treated.

steel - Nicholson file, 1/8" thick
blade - 4 1/4" cutting edge, 9 1/2" OAL
handle - elk with black and red liner material
guard and butt - mild steel from railroad spike
pins - stainless steel

I don't usually like that big a guard, but on this knife it looks OK.

Thanks, Keith. The longer guard seemed to balance out the length of the knife vs. the shortness of the blade.
