This hunter has a frame handle with a 4.5 inch blade and stainless fittings. Thanks for taking a look.

I like everything but the tip, I wish there would be a little more belly at the tip of the blade. The rest of the knife I like.

I love a well executed frame handle.

Perhaps a little more belly, but than it would look like many similar hunters blades, so I like the fast aggressive point. Rear bolster adds nicely.

Is the handle California Buckeye?

More belly will just make it look like every other hunter out there. It would do a lot of things a knife with more belly would struggle with.

But that rear bolster must add considerable weight, which I would not want in a knife I would hunt with. As nice as it looks, it would turn me away for practical reasons.

Beautiful work.

I hear collectors/outdoorsmen complaining of heavy handled hunters, especially rear bolster hunters.
Of course, I see the drawbacks if you are going to be doing a lot of skinning, but other than that I like a hunter with a little heft in hand.

As you can imagine, the Hancock in my avatar has a little weight considering the frame handle, however fills the hand comfortably with presents and authority.

I'm not disputing anyone's personal preference, but I'm imagining holding that rear bolster in the palm of my hand. Not the whole knife, just the bolster. I am having a real hard time imagining that I could describe the weight as "considerable". Then again, it could just be that I lack imagination. :p

As a hunter I want more bellly on the blade, I know its more original than more belly but I am imagining using it. I hope peopel understand what I am talking about. Otherwise I like the knife and the bolster does not bother me at all.

I like my fighters light and quick, but actually appreciate a little weight in my hunters and bowies.

I just like the feel of having a piece in hand that feels substantial like it can work for you, if you know what I mean.

Don has'nt said, but he may have lightened the rear bolster, if he thought it messed up the knife's balance. I do that sometimes by drilling out some of the material where it wont be visible. I like the look of the rear bolster and may put some on a hunter myself.

Don,
Nice work,we see too few frame handled hunters, imo.
I kinda' agree with some of the guys that it could use more belly,
but this one looks right just as it is, to me.
Nice flow and nice and pointy.

What is handle material ?

Doug

Not sure if I'd prefer more belly or more drop to the blade. Nice work though, the handle and rear bolster look great...
