Throughout the hunting season thus far, I have had the opportunity to field test another Sharpshooter leather product and that is the Hunter's Sheath. Similar to the Adirondack pocket sheath, this larger version is designed to give the hunter or backpacker a little something extra...size. Going beyond the norm of EDC, outdoor environments usually call for more robust gear. Larger knives and more powerful flashlights fall into this category and need a means to easily carry them.

As with every Sharpshooter product I have had the pleasure of owning and using, attention to detail is where it is at. You have heard me say this before and this sheath is no different. The stitching and construction of the sheath is top notch and professional, the welts are thick and durable and the full grain leather is of premium cut for a lifetime of use.

As I mentioned, this sheath is tailored to the equipment used in outdoor activities. Opening letters and cutting string or cardboard is one thing, but splitting joints on larger game and batoning kindling and firewood is entirely different. Pictured in the Hunters sheath is the INOVA T2 and the Bark River Fox River. Notice that even with a larger knife and flashlight, the sheath accommodates both easily.

The primary focus on this sheath was to add an extra dimension to field carry...that being to eliminate the obtrusive belt carry that can get in the way of heavy brush while stalking game and by also eliminating the noise accompanied with snags on branches and twigs. Also, depending on how you prefer to carry your backpack and the position of the waist harness and straps, you do not have to compromise comfort with a field knife and sheath trying to occupy the same space as the backpack. As you can see, the sheath easily hides inside your field/hunting jacket and stays out of the way yet remains easily accessible.

This handy little addition to your equipment can be found at www.knivesshipfree.com

All in all, I am pretty impressed with this sheath. I have found it easy to carry for my fall hunting thus far and the quality of the product will ensure a lifetime of service to the user.
