I’m looking for input on hunting boots. I’m going hunting in Michigan (the U.P.) in November and the only boots I have are un-insulated. Can anyone recommend some good insulated boots? I would like to keep it between $100 and $150, and American made.

Thanks,

Scott

Try out Merrell boots. I don't have personal experience with them but I've heard lots of good things from them and I even have an old friend who works for them.

They dont have many super-duty work boots, but most of their boots are for hiking which should be fine as long as your not trudging through feet of snow and mud. Don't forget some nice warm socks, they do wonders.

EDIT: I lied, I actually do own a pair of Merrell and have had them for over 4 years and they are still in great condition and I use them frequently. I even took them to Philmont for over 100 miles and they're very comfortable and durable. I dont recall ever getting blisters or getting wet or cold.

Dont settle for anything other than Danner or Irish Setter. I have had every other brand, and always go back to one of these.

Danners may be over your price limit but they are a great boot. I have always bought the ones with replaceable soles and have had 2 pair for over 17 years of hard use with a resole or two.

Thanks for the great ideas, that gave me good place to start looking before I go the sporting goods store and start trying on every boot in sight. I'm thinking I might start with the Danner Pronghorn.
