I have more than one favorite, I use these dogs to hunt steers. There are even more favorites to come in a few months. Also use the red McNab to hunt hogs.

Hi,

I've got 5 Springers that are all good hunters. But this photo of my female, Tank's Ring of Fire, is my favorite. She was 4 back then. We're both a bit older now.:)

I remember her putting up a dozen pheasants that day. She left all the other dogs in the dust. She not only turned those sloughs upside down, but she burned them to the ground and left nothing in her wake.

The sheer exhaustion is evident in her posture.

Pitdog,,I like that pic of Maisy with her head in the water. My dog does that at every pond, puddle, stream she comes across. Wonder what makes them do that?? Its funny.

Great pic Dale. Looks like you had to prop her up for the photo.:D

No Labs or Golden's in here yet.

Don't tell Radar but I've been looking at prospect breeds for future grouse seasons.

Thanks for posting folks.

Hi,

Thanks! That day is how I will always remember her. She's semi-retired now, but still gets out a couple times a fall. She slept for two days.

I'm surprised there aren't any photos of some Labs yet either. I haven't seen too many Goldens around anymore.

Here's Boomer, my American Water Spaniel. He has been gone about 2 years now, and I can't bear to "replace" him. :(
He was the best bird dog I ever hunted over and never lost a bird I sent him on. He actually found me alot of cripples just in his daily travels in the marsh. I was happy to have 10 great years with him, and now I don't think I've shot a duck since... RIP buddy.

Hi,

The American Water Spaniel is gaining popularity in the Spaniel world. They are a very versatile breed. No dog can be replaced, but you can build new memories.

BigNate, those are some great photos! I really like the Boys and the pup!

Thats a priceless picture

I don't have any good pics of my Black Lab, because we just got a digital camera a couple years ago.... The ones I do have, were taken when she was already starting to go downhill :(
I had her put down a little over a year ago at the age of 15. Best dog I ever had.
I sure miss her

Great breed!! Theres actually less breeders now though, than when we got him. :(

Only seems to be moderately popular in the MN/WI/MI area. Maybe someday I will work on those new memories, for now I will hunt with my Pa and his Chessie :D
