I wanted to do a big hike yesterday but I had a hockey game to go to later in the day so I decided to go out with the Khukuri and look for some fat wood at the swamp by my house. This is one of my favorite areas, it's my go to spot for just about everything, hunting, walking, and just peace. Theres no trails, it's a dense very large wooded area with a swamp in the center.
Lake Champlain is still a flowin` ~2 miles west of me is lake Champlain and ~2 north of me is all dense forest, makes for a nice close playground.
There was a cow moose right on the edge of the ice just to the right of the picture but I didn't get the camera out fast enough before she took off.
Today's essential tools, HI Khukuri and a CZ P-07 duty .40
Struck Gold!
Instead of helping me hack up a stump Sonya decided looking for small creatures was more fun
About 5 minutes work. Don't be lazy and buy fat wood at walmart go out and find your own.
Speaking of moose, I was just browsing through some old pictures and thought I'd share this I love this picture. I was on a 3 day backpacking trip on the long trail in vermont and I met this guy (guy in the picture) along the way, we hiked together for the next two days, we stopped to have lunch one afternoon and I said "Tim, don't move theres a moose right behind you!"
