Woke up feeling lousy today, throat feels like it's got razor blades in it, so I figured I'd get out and hunt some fatwood to take my mind off it !

Wasn't long before I found some:

Made a little fatwood fuzzy to light the big one with:

Looking back at my seat as the fire takes hold:

Bet ya can almost feel the warmth:

Snicker was ever alert as always, listening for any birds she could chase in the bushes:

Maisy just likes to relax and take in the views:

Although she does also help me find wild edibles, here she is munching on some tasty Miners Lettuce:

Maisy sure does seem to have a serious "outdoor woodsbummy" personality. Everytime you post pictures of her, she has that "I belong in this lake" or "I'm enjoying the vistas" look to her. That dog has always seemed a perfect fit for your outdoor lifestyle.

I guess some people just have an eye for fatwood...I struck out once again last week in my search lol

Cool pics...thanks for sharing!

I like the looks of that thing! ...for some reason it makes me want to throw it like a tomahawk! :D

Fantastic pics, especially the ones of Snicker and Maisy. Always cool seeing them in their natural environment, so it seems.

Hey pit, I know you usually wear a lumbar pack on your hikes and I just wondered how you carried or attached the Knatchet. cool pics too.

Good question, I don't think I've seen the sheath and carry method of the knatchet.

I have actually been quite lazy lately and haven't been taking a pack at all.
The Knatchet sheath allows it to be carried three ways, riding low, riding high or carried horizontally, so today I had it riding high on my belt.

I'll try and remember to get a sheath pic from the back the next time I take it out !;)

Good stuff, pitdog.

Looks like you had a great hike, and I definitely have knatchet-envy.

Thanks for sharing!
