Shot these around two AM at the ranch with my night vision setup. Two for one, single bullet. Third hog was hit and rolled as well running away, but didn't go lookin' till this morning. Of the retrieved 155 pounder pair, one was completely gone this morning, as in vanished, coyote style. Not a scrap left. Other was untouched where it dropped in the treeline. There was just a bloody drag mark about 20 yds long......couldn't find it. I had to get back to dallas so the search was called off. I did transport my entire Busse and Rat collection for chopping but decided against hauling the Waki around for 6 miles last night while on foot. Soon enough.......enjoy these pics though.

Great stuff mate....!!! I am guessing that AR is your 6.8SPC ??? Back prior to 1996 I use to use my L1A1 on swine... oh how I loved to walk onto a good mob of them then.... ;) :) :)

Your hogs look much more like ours here (which are mostly decended from Asiatic Boar) than the European Boar, you see the influence of the smaller number of European Boar in the hogs out here in some areas but you have to know what you are looking for... :)

Noveske Rogue gen 2, 6.8 SPCII, indeed. Problem solved, problem staying solved. I traditional bowhunt them with a longbow during daylight. The Aussies I know who bowhunt are all over them and yes ours look just like yours. Once they get BIG they start looking more Russian.

Nice going, man... they won't be breeding. What part of the state were you hunting?

.

You can hunt with night vision. That is freakin awesome. Wish we could hunt with night vision. We only get to play half hour before sunrise and half hour after sunset.

Garth you sure we can't hunt Hogs in Ohio with night vision? I think we can hunt coyotes that way. Maybe you were referring to game animals though.

I am glad we are not infested, but envy the target rich oportunity. Nice Job!

Night vision AND suppresors. Mine should arrive any day now. Hunting central Texas. Andy I do notice the slight differences between them from both pursuit of them and heavy game camera use. Did you see the beast that I posted the movie of? Well I have another roaming the south end of the property now. I'll post a pic of the former's skull and the latter on film.

Very nice! I like to hunt them in the Florida Everglades but there is no guarantee that you will bring everything home that you drop. I have lost a few to "poachers" stealing my kill......

Ditto on this, I think if it's a pest species you can hunt them unlimited day or night...Gen 3 NV is the bomb..don't go bigger than 5.56 with the latest NV or you'll blow the thin film on them.
Find an older Gen 3 set for the heaver recoil.

Makes me think of Sitka Black Tail down on kodiak Island and the Kodiak Brown Bear. Many hunters have lost there kill to the Brownies!!!

It is very common to see a Croc wandering/swimming around in the North here with a hog in it's mouth..... stable of their diet I am sure....while fishing in the NT a few years ago I saw three different crocs with hogs (or large parts of hogs) and one with another croc in it's mouth. They really do make Alligators seem like puppies.... :D . That one there is a Nile Croc BTW, just as big and nasty as ours.... !!

You will recall in my recent hunting thread I mentioned how fast one dead hog was consumed and how one VANISHED..... fugg'n Yowies I reckon....
