I've been looking for a good hunting knife lately...
Does anyone use a Busse or Kin knife for game? Or any input on the matter?

I am generally joined by one of either an Anorexic B4, HRLM, RMD or BATAC on my belt. The Rodent Solution is also a frequent companion. If purely for game processing the B4 is the ducks guts to me.

Don't really hunt, but I'd imagine the CABSLE (Choilless Anorexic Boss Street Limited Edition) would make a great hunting knife.

Always have my active duty with me while hunting. I have been using the elmax steak knives for processing for the last few seasons.

This is the correct answer for me right now….. :)

These would also make great choices, too….. ;)

I tackled a half dozen big game animals last fall with a Rodent Solution and Muk. Skinning and quartering I don't know how the Muk could be beat. If it were deboning I could see an argument for a short Basic or SAR, Rodent or similar profile. I do think a full convex grind creates too much friction. If I get a turkey this Spring, I'll breast it out with a Boney Active Duty or Anniversary Mean Street and report back.

I you are you looking for a knife to dispatch game it looked like John Rambo's Jimmy Lile blade did a good job on a hog in First Blood.

If you are looking for an all around knife for hunting tasks and chores I love a Ratmandu. Great all around. I have not got to use my InfiDu yet, but i know it will fit the roll.

Hey, Red Angel D--

What's the Res-C handled knife above the INFIdu, seventh pic down, top of the pic?

(and what's been done to it?)

Thx

The main reason I got into Busse/kin was a quest for a skinning knife. I have bought several models like a custom Rodent Solution, custom RMD bowie, CABS, Basic 4, AMS, Batac, Ratmandu and Ratmandu Infi. I harvested 2 deer this year and had just got my Infimandu so I put it to work and was pretty impressed with it. Now I realize most will automatically think a smaller knife would be better however, since I process my meat myself by cutting it up in small strips for frying, the size of the infimandu shined when it came to slicing up large chunks of meat into thin slices. So when you take the awesome feel of the RMD and consider all the other jobs it is good for when hunting/camping duties, I have to give it the thumbs up. The only other way I see to improve on it would be the Infimandu in the Bowie style. Too me, that would be the best of both worlds IMO.

It's a Military Overrun 511 with a convexed edge, they are pretty hard to find these days. Don't believe too many of them were sold of these, I think it was offered in Alaskaganza 2011 maybe?
