I am looking for a new hunting knife and am overwhelmed with all the options. I am looking for something kind of specific and need some help.
Here is my criteria
4"-5" blade
Quality steel that performs on very cold weather
Kydex Sheath
Grippy handle material
preferably FFG
strong enough to handle minor bushcraft
under $150

Arakiel- FFG stands for Full Flat Grind.
I would consider the ESEE-4. It has a 4.5'' blade made of 1095 so it will be plenty tough for use in bushcrafting. The best part is that ESEE backs all their knives with a no questions asked lifetime warranty! Price is around $100 depending on where you look, but that would give you years of outstanding service. Hope that helps.

Ha, I was thinking FFG either stood for Full Finger Guard, or Fiber Filled Grivory. Live and learn!

ESEE 4 fits all for your criteria and it can handle more than just minor bushcraft.

Fallkniven F1, Cold Steel Master Hunter: rubber handles, hard plastic sheath.
ESEE 4: Micarta handle, kydex sheath.
KOA Alpha Wolf: Rubber handle, leather sheath.
All the above selections are flat ground.

...and a last entry:
A.G. Russell Deer Hunter: Nylon handle, plastic locking sheath.

i have the esee 4 and that is the one that fits your requirements. I have used mine enough that i still cant believe the excellent heat treat on that knife. I keep using it thinking that i need to touch up the blade with my sharpener, and it just has this amazing edge retention. I wished that the handle was 1/2 inch longer, but after using it awhile and noticing that most of the time my finger was on the choil, I stopped caring. Plus one for the esee 4
