I don't think I've seen a 2016 thread yet. So here it is! Post photos of your harvests and the cool places and sights you see along the way!

I haven't harvested any animals yet this year but deer season opens up here in a few days. I'll be bow hunting soon! Here are some photos of my last scouting mission and my Columbia blacktail euro mount from last year, which I just finished up this morning.

I wish everyone good luck during the fall season!

None of our seasons have started yet, but I got a picture of this guys this weekend. I'm extremely excited for archery season to begin!

Andy,
Awsome. Is that rack A-typical, or is that the norm foR that species? What did it weigh field dressed? They look like a beautiful animal.

That is a nice fairly even Black Fallow head, with Black Fallow no two are ever the same. No idea on weight, never go near a set of scales with them. With this one I took the head and cape, back straps and hindquarters out (you can see the kind of country it was in and that was a bitch). I much prefer the does for eating, we have to cull 100s of deer out of this area each year and most sadly are let to rot or feed up the hog population.

This is a young buck I snapped a few seasons ago..

A spiker..

Hopefully I will have some moose photos to share soon. I am headed up to Fairbanks in about a week. :-)

I am off bush this weekend, the rut is over but we still need to cull more does out. It is going to be wet so I am not sure just how much hunting will get done, none the less beats being stuck in the city.

Andy

Goats are "fun"

Nice work to your daughter! Goats are tough and I applaud her getting up there to drop one.

So my two Brothers, and my 24 yr old Niece went on a week long bear hunting trip in Canada last week. While I stayed home and took care of the farm. Last morning of the hunt, my Niece got her first black bear..... 450 lb est. :O Killed it with one shot of 20 gauge slug. Outfitter said it's the largest one taken so far this year up there on his land. Here's the picture: My middle Brother Doug on left, outfitter (I don't know his name), my Niece Ashley, her Dad/my oldest Brother Dwayne

Thanks FishinHank. Looks like you guys had some nasty weather! Were you in BC?

Andy - those black fallow deer look pretty cool!

Exracr - where was the bear hunt? New Brunswick? Quebec?

Here are a few more pics:

btw, that bear in the pictures paws are as big as my hand, and as big as my feet respectively...........

What a beautiful spot. Thanks for posting it Bruce. Always like the goat hunting pics as well.

Nice hog there Andy.

That picture is astounding !!!! Just beautiful Bruce !!

HK, thanks... he was a bit of a surprise when I got down to him, did realise he was such a chunky little boar till I got down to him (shot him as he dropped off a small plateau and only his top 1/3 was visible.

Are those tusks pretty typical Andy? Looks pretty good sized to me, but I'm a novice in the hog department.

For this country that are pretty good especially given that he is a chunky but not huge boar. The ground here is very rocky so most boars I shoot have the tusks all broken up. I should have recovered these ones but I was feeling really last with about an hour and a half to walk back to camp as it was.
