That just shows how much the sport of hunting has deteriorated if you ask me. It seems like people only go out for the kill anymore. That first site gave info on setting up a trip and it said you simply sit and wait with a guide while the other guides take the dogs out and bring the hog to you, then the dogs hold the boar at bay while you shoot it. Whats the sport in that?
The lightfoot site was a little better, but judging from the pictures it wasn't the most humane of kills. If you want to hunt with a knife thats fine, but it looked like that boar had to be stabbed more than once and had to bleed for awhile. I'm no tree hugger and I think hunting is a great sport. But I think for it to be considered a sport you should do more than wait on the guides to toss the animal in front of you, and it should be a humane kill. The kill is just so you can benefit from the hunt by the meat, hide, etc. Its not what you go out for, at least in my opinion. Take it however you want I'm not trying to flame anyone.
